Howdy originated in the late 1920’s with the introduction of “Bib-Label lithiated Lemon-Lime Soda” it was an alternative to colas and other flavors of the time with a new taste that used a blend of lemon and lime flavor extracts. In all, the formula included 7 ingredients and the name was later changed to 7up. Howdy has a very distinctive lemon and lime flavor when contrasted with other mass marketed lemon lime sodas
